Floyd Groom – Electric Guitar
Floyd Groom, a Rocky Mount native, discovered his passion for music at the young age of 8, immersing himself in the diverse sounds echoing through his home. From singing in the youth and adult choir to picking up his first electric guitar at 11, Floyd’s musical journey has been fueled by a deep love for both electric and acoustic guitar. As a member of several garage bands in the community, Floyd honed his skills and found his place in the local music scene.
Upon joining New Life Church Rocky Mount, Floyd’s musical talents found a new purpose in serving the congregation. Starting with acoustic guitar on Wednesday nights and transitioning to electric guitar on Sunday mornings, Floyd’s dedication to music ministry and Mercy Street Worship shines through in every chord. With a heart for inspiring others through music, Floyd finds fulfillment in sharing his passion with the church community and beyond.
